PURPOSE

The purpose of Fellowship Community is four-fold:

Exaltation: To worship God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; with all your heart, soul and mind.

Edification: To build up the Church of Jesus Christ through the teaching of the Word and the ministry of the Spirit.

Equipping: To prepare the Believer to be sent forth to fulfill the Great Commission.

Evangelism: To persuade men and women to repent and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We subscribe to the following principles taught in the Holy Bible:

WE BELIEVE in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, as inerrant in the original writings, and as the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and in all matters of life.  (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)

WE BELIEVE that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons:  The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all things, upholds all, and governs all.  (Isaiah 45-47; Matthew 28:18-19; Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:17)

WE BELIEVE in GOD THE FATHER, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love;  that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men;  that He hears and answers prayer;  and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.  (2 Peter 1:17; Ephesians 4:6)

WE BELIEVE in JESUS CHRIST, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  We believe in His sinless life, miracles, teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, His Blessed hope, and personal, visible premillenial return to earth.  (John 20:28; Hebrews 1:8, and 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Luke 24:51; Hebrews 8:1-2, and Titus 2:11-14; John 14:1-4; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18, and Acts 1:10-11)

WE BELIEVE in the HOLY SPIRIT, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide.  (Matthew 3:16; Acts 5:3-4)

WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God; that he is a sinner both by nature and choice and thereby incurred physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God.  (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12; Genesis 3:19; Ezekiel 18:4; Ephesians 2:1-2)

WE BELIEVE that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become eternally children of God.  All such are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and baptized by Him into that Spiritual Body (the Church) of which Christ is the Head.  (John 14:15-17, and 1 Corinthians 12:12-13)

WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ORDINANCES to the Church: 1) baptism, and 2) the Lord’s Supper.  Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, representing the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and also the experience of the believer-death to sin and the resurrection to newness of life.  The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death for believers, until He comes.  (Matthew 28:18-19; Romans 6:1-4; Acts 2:37-41; 1 Peter 3:18-22, and 1Corinthians 11:23-32)

“I was raised in a religious home, went to a traditional church and grew up knowing moral right and wrong.  It was during High School in 1973 that I met Kathy, who became my wife in 1976.  It wasn’t until seventeen years later that we were blessed with our daughter, Rochelle.

Through many challenging times as newlyweds, we both quickly came to understand our need for more than “religion.”  What we needed was a personal relationship with Christ.  It was in the Fall of 1978 that we both accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

“After a few years of actively serving in a Bible Church, the Lord placed a calling in my life to go to Bible College.  I graduated from Arizona College of the Bible in 1987 with a B.A. in Theology and an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry.

“Upon graduation I continued serving in local Bible Churches in the areas of Bible Teaching and Preaching, Worship Leading and small group fellowships.  Over the course of the next several years, God strengthened my faith, taught me grace, and prepared myself and my family for the exciting privilege of shepherding His Church.  In August of 2002, Fellowship Community was planted and it is my joy to serve as the Senior Pastor.

“I invite you to join our weekly worship service.”   - Pastor Mike
